Born and raised in poverty in Louisville’s Smoketown, Tinsley was a mediocre student who found success as an athlete. Athletic scholarships made his college education possible. He played professional basketball and leveraged his athletic career and academic achievements into a successful business. With organizational and leadership skills, Tinsley built and leads two companies that operate over 60 restaurants in Florida and Kentucky. He has also received numerous honorary doctorates and has been inducted into several halls of fame for his athletic and business accomplishments and civic leadership.

For Dr. Thomas Mitzel’s 100th episode of the Wesleyan Air-Way, his special guest is Kelly Flick, Director of Grants Administration a Kentucky Wesleyan College. Kelly began as the institution’s new Grant Writer in October 2020. Overall, Kelly has 18 years of experience in governmental, public and faith-based social service agencies in Kentucky, Minnesota and Alabama.
